About Cologne Tourism

Cologne is a magnificent city of fine museums and architecture, being best known for its 13th-century Gothic cathedral, the Dom, while other highlights include the Botanical Gardens, the zoo and the Rheinpark. Located in the North Rhine-Westphalia area of western Germany, Cologne is the capital of the Rhineland and regularly hosts many enormous events at its Trade Fair complex.

To the south-west of Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN), the city of Bonn was the former capital of West Germany and much of the city was destroyed at the end of the war, although most of the old, medieval town centre (Altstadt) remains - a stark contrast to the rejuvenated riverfront. Both the Münsterplatz and the Marktplatz are great places to begin sightseeing in Bonn.
